  • Contesting will

My partner passed away September 2022.
his kids put a Caveat on in 2022 then extended to feb 2024. My solicitor said I can't challenge it .
because its being contested is this right .his kids cut all contact 7 years ago ther choice .
my partner tride so hard to have contact they just didn't want to no .they are going down the 1975 act .saying he was a bad dad -my solicitor recommended we saw a barrister to see where we stood .
the barrister said they have a weak case-
I paid for the barrister as it couldn't come of the estate. Now my solicitor is collecting photos to send to tjer solicitor to show they had a good relationship before they stopped contact.
I'm now not sure if I have the right solicitor as its been over 12 months and we are no further ahead.
Is it easy to change solicitor .

OP posted a shorter version of this thread under Wills forum I have replied there.
I don't know the value of the estate but it sounds like a lot of money has already been spent on legal fees before court action has commenced
OP's barrister says OP has a strong case. The deceased's children have probably been told they have a strong claim by their barrister.
