For 4 months, I have been trying to get compensation from Booking.com. They offered me $25.00 after losing over GBP800. After months of phone call when they told me the hotel in Fethiye would not refund them, here is the EM I wrote to Rip Off Britain:

I have been trying to get compensation for 4 months after booking a hotel in Fethiye. Hotel was booked 3 Sep 2023.

I have all the documentation, with pictures, and all they keep saying is they are not getting a refund from the hotel. I had a contract with booking.com, not the hotel.

I finally received a call back from Hong Kong number, from an escalated call. As soon as I mentioned they should have done their own due diligence before advertising this hotel, the "Supervisor" hung up on me and didn't call me back.

I am presently, again, on hold. I want to expose this company for the rip off that they are.

Please help us. We had to organise our own accommodation, plus, getting there, we were ripped off by the taxi driver.

We had no terrace as promised, just a French Balcony. The ground below us was full of rubbish, pallets, etc. Apartments at both sides, washing and rubbish. No alcohol served "because of the owner's religious beliefs"

    Ideas?

A recent thread on a hotel booking through this platform. Look at the posts on the contractual position.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
