Hi, sorry in advance this is a long one. So I saw a car on auto trader, mot was done 18/10 and service was done by the dealer itself. They advised me on ONE advisory and assured me the car is perfect with really good millage, they told us we have 14 days to return the car if we are not happy with it. We checked the car for write offs and finance and all was clear so we decided to buy the car. We did test drive before but there were no issues. The next day we collected it, drove it home it was about 30 min drive, when we got out the car it stank of burning rubber, not knowing what the issue was, I booked it in with my garage. He did a full check and came back with 9 advisory’s that were never mentioned by the garage ( the one they mentioned wasn’t even in the list !) this included, bad engine, bad exsaust, bad tires, leaking clutch, worn break pads , the list goes on. We also paid to do a further check and found that there is an issue with the millage, where the dvla has said it’s 35,000 but the most recent mot shows 33,800, this could be an mistake from an auction but it’s still something we should of been aware of ir they should of checked as it is their job, the same with the mot. They didn’t mention anything about the service. We told them about this and said we would like our money back but they refuse . They said they can fix these issues. But I really don’t trust that they will then we willl be past our 14 days. My garage said even with these issue fixed, there may be more money that needs to go Into the car later down the line, I just think I was mis sold, I’ve brought a car that most likely wouldn’t of passed the Mot last month and is going to cost me more time and money. They won’t refund me and I don’t know what else to do, they said they will fix it but we still have to pay for parts, why should anyone have to buy a “perfect car” to have to fix 10 issues the week after buying it. Please help , I’m out of options

They know they said it but are claiming they have rights as well, and we should let them fix it, but it doesn’t make sense as I still have to pay for parts, with 9 advisory’s there’s bound to be a few parts. I just want a refund and to be done with them, I don’t trust them to fix the car but we have been up there in person and got no where

Under CRA 2015 you have a short term right to reject the car bought from a dealer if it develops a serious fault within 30 days after taking possession of it.
When did you take possession of the car, you didn't include a date in your thread?
You do not have to give the dealer a chance to fix the faults, only if the 30 day short term right to reject has expired.
If you are still within the 30 days you should write to the dealer that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you are rejecting the car as it has several serious faults. You should also write that the car is available for collection and if he fails to reply within 7 days or his reply is unsatisfactory you may commence court action without further recourse to him.
In the meantime you should not drive the car but maintain the car's insurance.
