Very old debt

Hi
i have had a debt that I think was originally with GE capital (although I can’t be sure) and it’s now with PRA. I’ve been paying it for years as it was part of a DMP arranged somewhere around 2005. I’ve lost all paperwork and track but just carried on paying it. I’ve just been sent an update from PRA and the amount still seems extremely high. How do I find out who this was originally with and the original debt amount?

Send them a Subject Access Request, they have 30 days to provide all the details on the account. Because the account is old, I'm not sure what they will send you, but at least the last 6 years.

Make sure you get Proof of Postage.
