  • Private Parking fines

Hi All. I am being perused for a private parking fine, this has been ongoing for 3.5 years. I seem to get a reminder once a year, with a following debt collection warning, then nothing. I have never responded.
However, my annual letter this time had a slightly different tone and I suspect that a solicitors letter is imminent. I won’t go into full detail but this but the charge is for an excess of 10 minutes in a free car park, the usual extortionate amount. I am determined to fight this as a matter of principle. I read on this forum recently, if a solicitors letter arrives, you can request copies of all persual letters sent for the recovery of said parking fine, and this must be sent within 7 days. The reason I need to request this is the company chasing the ‘debt’ has changed twice and each time the figure is different . It has not increased, but reduced by over £90. There is no offer of reduced payment or any indication as such, which makes me very suspicious. Can someone please advise the correct wording or reference I need to compile a letter requesting this information, so I can prepare in advance. I cannot seem to find this again on the forum. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Who has sent the latest demand?

I think you might be referring to a CPR31.14 request, which is sent to solicitors who have filed a county court claim.
Could you post up a redacted copy of the latest letter?
