    What's a 'pay stub'? Sounds like the US equivalent of what in the UK we'd call a 'payslip'. Are you in the USA? If so this is a UK forum and we're unlikely to know what US mortgage companies do.

    However the answer in the USA is probably the same as in the the UK. There is no general rule or law about this. Each lender decides their own rules on what they accept as proof of income. If you use a mortgage broker they should know what lenders accept. If you are dealing direct with a lender ask them. It's probably on their website.
