Hi Forum. I don't currently reside in the UK and I am not currently a UK resident.
I have an outstanding debt which was passed to Equivo which I wanted to attempt negotiation a full and final settlement for. However, due to the delay in receiving the mail (it has to be redirected and then I have to wait to receive it) I missed the reply window for their last letter and they have now started the CCJ proceeding. I received the letter today and the issue date is 04/09/23 so I am still in the initial 14 day window. I'm not in a position to clear the debt (it is around £9000) and I don't earn a huge amount so would like to avoid additional monthly payments. But I do have some inheritance which I was hoping to use to make the F&F offer.
Is it now to late to make the offer? Do I need to complete and return the N9A form to prevent the risk of them proceeding with judgement? I don't want to risk getting a CCJ on my credit file because I will return to the UK at some time in the next couple of years.
Thanks for any advice.
