  • Car issues - legalsolutions4u

    Hello,

Firstly thank you for allow me to post and HI!!!

I purchased a vehicle in Dec 2021 for £31,000 from a reputable dealer and they promised the vehicle had only had 1 owner and knew the person personally. They declared it had a full service history, no damage and had never been stolen etc.. Refardless of this information i still did a HPI check and this came back all ok.

Fast forward to last month and I went to get a price via Carwow and to my shock they informed me they wouldn't be able to sell the vehicle because it had a stolen marker on the HPI. I have then asked a friend of mine who owns his own car dealership to run my vehicle through his system. Initially it came back clear, though following a check via Vcheck i have proved my car had been stolen, recovered and salavaged in July 2020.

I have gone back to the dealer who sold me the car expecting them to put it right, due to how they had been with me when buying the cat and from reviews. However they wasn't initially accomadating and a month later i am still trying to get it sorted and they have now involved their solicitors Legalsolutions4u. I have read a number of threads on this site about them and they are less than flattering to say the least.

As it stands they have offered to take the car back for £24,000, I must sign a contract agreeing never to share my story and also i must allow the company to collect the vehicle, check it and pay me within 14 days. Though I have no faith in the dealership and feel sure the would make something up to get more money out of me.

Though i understand the car dealership can ask for wear & tear fee I didn't expect i wouldn't be offered less than what the vehicle is worth on the open market £28,000. I feel i have beem lied to, mislead and now being to be made to pay for the dealers mistake.

What advice would you give me?

    Thanks

    Lee

What you read on the internet about Legalsolutions4u is honest opinion, which is really endorsed by their own disclaimer statement (https://www.legalsolutions4u.co.uk/website-disclaimer/0
In other words "altho' we say we are experts we are not solicitors and you should obtain professional advice and we are not liable if you follow our advice!"

What are you looking for when you state you are " expecting them to put it right" ?
Do you want them to take the vehicle back or to reimburse you a percentage of the purchase price or something else?

I would be ignoring that "offer"

How did you pay for the vehicle ... cash/creditcard/finance?

      Hi,

Firstly thank you very much for taking the time to reply.

Maybe i was being naive but i thought they would have tried to do all they could to put the matter right, especially because reputation is important.

Though In a perfect world I would like to return the vehicle for a full refund, I have used it for 18 months so I just want to return it and get the market value for the same vehicle, same mileage that's got no adverse history.

      I paid by bank transfer.

What would you suggest to do why i now have to deal with Legalsolutions?

      Thanks

As the vehicle was "stolen recovered" it should not have an HPI marker
Possibly the dealer purchased it as a salvage from the insurance company.

Have you tried checking with the previous owner as shown on the V5C?
The number of previous owners is also shown, but does not include the last owner before you.

" and they promised the vehicle had only had 1 owner and knew the person personally. They declared it had a full service history, no damage and had never been stolen etc"
Were the above assurances in writing, or only verbal? If only verbal was a witness present?
