  • CPM UK Car Park Management

    Hi

I received a Parking charge Notice from CPM, however the first letter I received from them started that it was a reminder letter and that the charge had been increased from £60 to £100. I never received the first letter which they supposedly sent.

I believe they neglected to send it within 14 days so are acting like its a reminder letter when it isn't.

They are saying that POFA 2012 Section 9 paragraph says that it is assumed that the letter is delivered unless proven otherwise, this seems like a ridiculous assumption.

    How do I fight this?

    Regards

Apologies for the delay in responding.
You'd be surprised (or maybe not) at the number of times I've seen people complain that the first letter received has been a reminder, thus denying the opportunity of paying the discounted rate.
CPM are usually fairly persistant, so it is not likely to go away.
If it were me I'd SAR them for all info held & scrutinise the original notice to keeper.
Also take photos of site signage (t&c's, entrance signs etc).
Post them on here for opinion.
