  • Court complaints policy?

I have just written to the courts with a complaint over service and they have not offered me any response about their complaints policy or what that looks like? They surely must have one and have to at least show you what that looks like with time frames to responses from both sides? Otherwise they are just following their own rules? Every public office and servant must have to deal with complaints and have a policy in place?

This is what my search engine comes up with.

Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

To be honest the Court Service is a 'shambles', but it's the only one we have.

Just to add, through lack of 'investment'.

Yes the courts direct you to complain about a judges behaviour but that is all there is no procedure for complaining about other court staff?

Very helpful, I have gone to my MP to request an explanation of the courts policy but this seems to be the closest I am going to get Appeal

If you’re not satisfied with the senior manager’s review of your complaint, you can appeal to the Customer Investigations Team. The manager who reviewed your complaint will give you their contact details. The Customer Investigations Team will take a fresh look at the way your complaint has been handled. They will aim to respond to you within 15 working days.

Each Court has a Court Manager, that is your starting point, write a Formal Letter of Complaint to them, if it can't be resolved, then an Area Manager looks at it, if it still can't be resolved, it goes to the Ministry of Justice in London.
