  • How to revoke LPA

My Mother consented to a family member to be Lasting Power of Attorney. It was at his suggestion.
I received a Notice of intention to register a lasting power of attorney for property and financial affairs & health & welfare as the donor wanted me notified. Time to appeal will be expire 21/2/23.
    My Mother has mental capacity
After speaking with my Mother regarding the implication of LPA she has stated that she was not informed about the notification of preferences and wants complete control over her finances.
She did not understand the implications of the level of financial control involved.
It has now caused a rift with the named LPA & she wants me to cancel the LPA.until she has time to digest all information herself.
Unsure how to revoke this as I am not on speaking terms with the LPA.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Many Thanks

    Does this help?

    https://www.gov.uk/power-of-attorney...f%20revocation'
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read this: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

      Yes thank you.
However the only objectiont my Mother not being informed regarding the implications of the lpa. We do not have copy of the lpa document & I am of the understanding we have to have this to send as well.
She does not have a copy.
The lpa has now had a strop & informed my Mother its up to me to cancel it.
My Mother is now under undue stress as she believes nothing can be done. She just wants to have clarity of what she has signed & if all agreed she would still allow the original nominated lpa along with a secondary lpa,her Grandson.
      Many Thanks
