Query about obtaining information legally

Hi
I supported a company (ltd company) who were selling merchandise, with he promise to donate profits to a well known charity.
my question is, this person/company has not been very transparent about how much from the merch went to the charity.
am I able to find out this information legally?
I have a feeling this person/company did not donate as they said they would.
