  • MCOL claim transfered to local court - but Settlement agreed via AviationADR

Hi all - looking for a little advice from a newbie to claiming

I filled a claim on MCOL against easyJet (which they tried to defend - even though they had no defence) which has now been passed onto my local court for a hearing (no date set)
However I also registered the same claim with the AviationADR - after the deadline of 28 days, easyJet came back on 06/09/22 with a settlement offer (which I accepted) - easyJet now have 20 working days to send the funds to my bank account (04/10/22)

I know I have to wait until the funds have been cleared to do anything else - but how do I go about cancelling the court hearing - is it just a case of filling in the N279 form and sending it to my local court & easyJet

Once you have received payment, notify the Court that the case has been settled. It may help if the other party also does this.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

      Thanks

Would I do this via the N279 form, or would an email to the court do?
I'm not sure if easyJet are aware the 2 claims are the same, so they will probably not know the claim is settled

A letter should be sufficient. Quote the claim number.
