Solisitor wanted

Hi
I wish to take the police to a county court for unllawfull arrest and false imprisonment as they dropped my case a week before it went to court. The solicitor who was representing me said they can not do this as they only deal with criminal cases and I would need a solicitor that deals with cival.

Any recommendations please?

Did you ask your solicitor for that recommendation? You will want a solicitor in your area. If nothing else, contact the Law Society.

So you have a 'grievance' against the police and want to issue civil proceedings.

What you would need to do is lodge a complaint with the police regards your 'grievance',
see where that takes you. Then assess where you want to go from there. Going to Court
is a last resort.

The Courts expect individuals to try to do everything before they turn to the Courts.

Also bear in mind there are Pre Action Protocols that need to be followed.

That is a complete waste of time as for one the police are so currupt that that matter will be pushed aside, persides I want compensation

It doesn't matter if you are in Manchester or Cornwall, law firms do work countrywide and given today's technology, it is not always necessary to travel except where you might have to go to court or get a medical assessment.

I guess they can go to court on video link now.

I went on Iain Gould web site and went to the contact section, there is no email address present so the only option was to send them a message though there server. They have not replied back to me though. This is the 3rd law firm that this has happened to me now. If they dont want the work then there is no much ells I can do!

I think it's a little unreasonable to expect an immediate response especially during busy periods. If you read the bio, you will see that Ian Gould mentions the law firm he works for, you may want to consider giving them a call tomorrow to see if a further discussion is possible.

THey dont even have a phone number on there web site. So it quite clear that they are not intrested
