  • Divorce/half of assets

I bought a house about 11 years ago, with my dad. I moved out after about 8 years. I paid most of the deposit and paid mortgage too for those 8 years

I moved out with my husband. Been having issues for quite some time with him. What i have done with that old house is transferred it all into my dad's name. The reason i did that is; when we separate/divorce, my husband can't get half of the equity. We bought it 4 years before he even moved to England.

I have been told that even after 5 years from the point i hv transferred the deed, my husband can get ¹/2 if we get divorced. Is this true.b

    No such 5 year rule.
The issue is whether you consider that you still have an interest in the house (what should happen if your dad dies). If you do then it is part of your estate and to be considered on a divorce. This may be especially so if you tried to 'hide it'

Halves is not the rul. It cabn be a strong starting point, but is displaceaable.
