  • Possession Rented Accommodation

My landlord sent me a Section 8 Notice of Seeking Possession. But it's more to do with applying for deduction of my Personal Allowance of UniversUniversal.
As the amount of rent I owe increases. When on Housing Benefit my payment history WOULD be very neat.
Under UC it is a mess, at times I owe over £800, my award for housing is currently £535.73p, that's £123.63 × 52 ÷ 12.
In months where there are only four Mondays, as the rent is due to be paid on Monday & for the forthcoming week, I get £40 more than I'm charged. However this does not put my account in credit as often as under HB. It's thirteen weeks before my account is either one or two thirds of the initial weeks payment (112.40) I made on the day of signing the agreement. So about £80 or £40. Then it builds up to over £800, meaning I still owe about £265.
But I have paid more than I should. Firstly the £112.40, the closest I could get to, as LL didn't have any change. But had to think as to accept the £120 payment in full, no change, or let me off ten pence! They are not than mean as they went with the latter.
But that's all changed now I'm on UC.

It's an AST, rolling on weekly.

I can't get any legal help, even if I pay.

I remembered his site was helpful to a friend a few years ago, but it's been an eventual few years!

    Any advice appreciated,
    Thank you
