Hello,
First time poster here.
I was involved in a car accident last week in which the car infront emergency stopped in the outside lane (driver hit the brake instead of the clutch thinking they were still driving a manual car).
I was about 3 car lengths away and just couldn’t stop in time, no injuries occurred and the driver infront took responsibility for the incident (evidence from video footage, police report, and text message from the driver infront).
Obviously the 3rd party insurers have put myself at fault as I was the one that crashed into the back of the vehicle, I’m not happy about the outcome however, I get that on paper I was the one who technically crashed the cars together.
My question is… if the insurance company put the blame on me, can I take it further? Do I have a case to take it further? What are the possible outcomes? I feel like the carelessness of the driver infront can’t just lead to the sole punishment of myself.
