  • Physical assault

Unfortunately I've been the victim of physical assault.
My primary question is in choosing a lawyer. Any recommendations from the Tunbridge Wells area would be appreciated, and any advice in this and any other matters much appreciated.
Particularly also with whom and what I can discuss with others, concerning this matter.

I have of course reported the matter to the police

    Many thanks

    Tony

I presume if I give anonymous accounts on here that is ok?
    Getting rather paranoid!

Sorry to hear that. Have you made a Police statement? Once the evidence is gathered it will go to the CPS who will decide whether to charge the person. The CPS prosecute the case. You do not get to choose who goes to court for the prosecution.

Perhaps you can tell us more about what outcome you want.. .

We don't recommend particular law firms but you could try; https://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk/
        or our sister site: https://justbeagle.com/

          Thanks Island Girl,
I didn't realise that. I presume though it would be good for me to have as much training in presenting in Court - and much else to do with the legal aspects.

So where is best for that?

The outcome is just conviction and damages. Again there's much I need to learn about all these aspects, so would appreciate advice in all areas.

            I'll start with those sites.

As islandgirl leave the criminal prosecution to the authorities.

              For compensation/damages there is https://criminalinjurieshelpline.co....the%20attacker.
(but don't expect miracles, they are slow!)

Or you can make a claim in the civil courts if you know who assaulted you, (and if they have sufficient assets to pay any award you might obtain!)
Some of the advantages over CICA are you have 3 years to initiate action, awards are higher with no upper limit

Flabberghast - no training or presenting skills needed. You will presumably be called to give evidence if the matter goes to trial but you are a long way from that. Have you made a statement? Has anyone been charged? If so, what with (there are different types of assault). These are the first steps. If you give us some more info we may be able to help but there is little you can do but work with the Police and see where it goes.
