Hi Legal Beagles
I ordered a car on a lease agreement last July. The estimated delivery time was 12 weeks. Since then the delivery date keeps slipping and I have yet to get a confirmed date - the latest (it is a rolling date) for a build date of end of April. The date keeps moving out as it gets closer. The problem is that I now need a car - it is unsustainable to be without a car for this amount of time. I understand the supply issues with cars but I need to cancel this order. I paid an admin fee which I accept I will lose if I cancel the order. However, I have been informed that the T&Cs include a fee of £600 if I cancel and indeed it does. There must be a limit to how long a consumer is asked to wait for delivery, especially as there was an initial expectation given of 12 weeks which is now at an estimated 40 weeks and still counting! I would appreciate some advice.
Thank you
Kevin
