  • Wrongly arrested by accuser telling untruths

Several years ago, I witnessed and videoed (outside my workshop) a neighbour attacking an old man because he had parked outside his house. The neighbour hadn’t seen me videoing the incident and feigned he had been struck by the old man, when he spotted me, he hurled abuse at me and a customer standing close by. He reported to the police claiming that the old man had attacked him, I showed the police my video and CCTV, they didn’t pursue the matter. I forwarded the video to numerous friends, relatives and neighbours. Some months later someone uploaded the videos onto YouTube (Michael Huke Lloyds Banker). Two months after the police arrested me at my place of work and charged me with Harassment as Michael Huke claimed that I uploaded the video and it discredited him in front of his staff at Lloyds Bank HQ. After 10 hours I was released without charge. I engaged a firm of solicitors to sue for wrongful arrest. After the case was sent to the magistrates court the defendants were obliged to submit their evidence which included Michael Hukes statement and incidents he had reported to the police over the previous years, this included him admitting he feigned the assault old the old man that he’d reported to the police, that he had driven past the property of the old man over the grass in the afternoon and following morning in a fit of rage, plus many hundreds of spurious reports such as I drove past my house and looked at his house, all rather bizarre. 3 years and 3 months after my arrest Avon and Somerset Police made an out of court settlement, my award, my solicitors fees and the costs of Avon and Somerset Police legal team was estimated at £150,000, all paid for by the taxpayer.
I am now seeking advice/assistance in charging the gentleman with ‘Wasting police Time’ and/or ‘Perverting the Course of Justice’.

You could bring a private prosecution, although I would not recommend it. Otherwise, you could ask the Chief Constable why the police have not sought to charge the offender.
