  • Problems with Social Services

How do you get Social Adult Services to tell the truth and stop them providing 'Care in the Community" to someone who doesn't want it or need it? They say they are not responsible for this, but the victim is being constantly watched and her day-to-day movements monitored by neighbours and others. These people do not talk to her and they ignore all her protests. One acquaintance told her that it WAS 'Care in the Community' she was being subjected to and when she showed she could behave like a grown up (she is over 60 and independent), it will stop. Please help if you can.

This is a repeated question that has already received answers.

GREYFUR, if you ask an almost identical question several times, it will be confusing to members trying to help you and the replies will be also similar. Stick with your original questions for best results.

Thanks for your reply, SAM101. I apologise if I have misused the forum. I was just hoping that someone else may have had experience with adult social services; carers and the police liaising with each other that has caused problems and how they resolved it. Regards.

A social worker claims that the victim is being made vulnerable by others statements to them which she has decided are untrue. She now says that she thinks the victim could be at risk of harm and is therefore making a referral to Adult Safeguarding and has forwarded details of the victim's mental health, saying her community psychiatric nurse will help her. The victim doesn't have a mental health condition or a community psychiatric nurse. Can she just ignore all of this?

Sorry SAM101, but this is a continuing issue I am trying to get help with. Where SHOULD I continue to post? Perhaps things could be a little plainer to those using the site. I see someone has used the Welcome Forum as it invites newcomers, which they are, and yet you have told them to post elsewhere?

The welcome forum does get questions relating to many other areas and members try and direct them to the correct area so they will get the most replies.

With your ORIGINAL question, you received a number of replies and then asked a similar question on the welcome forum, loosing the track of those members that were involved in answering you.

It can sometimes be difficult to understand, but our intentions are meant to help you as much as possible, so please continue to use the forum but in relation to the original question, stick with it. Should you have a non related subject, then do start a new question .

I hope this helps to clarify.
