  • Help! 'A judgement was issued against you' :(

I had received a Claim Form from UK Parking Control Ltd at the end of Nov '21. I submitted an acknowledgement of service on 9/12/21 and requested a SAR from the Claimant. I had assumed I had enough time to submit my defence (delayed somewhat by Covid) and now I see on moneyclaim.gov.uk that a judgement was issued against me on the 7th Jan '22. Is this a CCJ?

I'm really concerned as don't really know what this means or what approach to take next? Any help/advice would be wholly appreciated.

    Thank you

Yes, it's a CCJ because you didn't submit your defence within the 28 days of the service of the claim. You will have difficulty getting this set aside as the judgement was because of your tardiness.

Suggest you pay within 30 days so that the judgement does not remain on the record for 6 years.

Thanks for getting back to me..

I am looking to get a mortgage soon so will aim to pay it asap if it avoids any marks on my credit file.

Do you know if its best to pay UKPC direct or the solicitor and is it worth making an offer to pay less to clear it or is it too late for that now?

      Thanks again

Don't faff about!!! Pay them, probably UKPC to avoid delays, and get a promise they will notify the court AND ask for a certificate of payment.
