  • Barclays VT - Advice Needed

    Hi all

I have £200 left to pay to BPF before I can go for the voluntary termination. The car is 9 years old now so there are some clear signs of wear and tear/damages which I know they will want to charge for.

do I need to give BPF a certain amount of notice to do the VT? They have said I need to fill out their forms, but I understand from other threads I can issue an email/letter notice? My next payment is due to come out in 10 days time for the vehicle.

Also they have said there would be a charge for them to come and collect the vehicle, do you know if they are allowed to do this legally ?

Id really appreciate any advice on this subject

    Thanks

    J

    Hi Jake1989

An excellent Guide by Rob on VT's - have a read, then comeback with questions. VT's need to be handled carefully.

The answers are in the VT guide.

The FAQ question on page 18 about tax and insurance is the same answer to your collection charge. There is a template letter for disputing collection charges and there's also information about how to challenge vehicle damage.

As for giving notice, the guide is littered with the same answer and is clear as day in section 99: You can terminate at any time before the final payment becomes due.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
