Hi. My daughters partner of five years has admitted to stealing £35000 over the last 18 months from my parents. I have admissions over text from him. He has agreed to pay £300.00 per month which will take over 8 years. His mother wanted us to do a civil agreement which he has signed but we havent. My parents are 70 and 71 and in all honesty they may not be here long enough to see it repaid in full. What would my options be as im finding it hard to accept that he has walked away from this and we are all struggling knowing that for the next 8 years or so this is going to be hanging over us.

How did he commit the theft? Obviously this could be made into a criminal matter as well as a civil matter as it currently stands.
How much impact could this cause to your parents in terms of the missing money?
Overall I guess the entire family has to tackle this together if it has been decided that he shall escape criminal prosecution and if that is to work, a certain amount of compromise is going to needed. Is he sorry? Why did he do it? Are there other issues which need tackling such as addictions or unsustainable lifestyle?
For the time being the money should be repaid to your parents - what happens if they pass away (sorry to ask x), does the debt continue being repaid to their beneficiaries?
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
