I am on the other side of the world.
My mother was ill in hospital and has now passed away her. Her husband’s daughter who is Executor of the will assaulted her father and stole or tried to steal his car. I hear there is a police report and a health report about this.
I spoke to the husband last week by phone the house is worth around 130000 pounds sterling and there is cash in the bank. He said SHE! wants it all and she is not having it! After my days there will be around 80000 pounds and I am giving it to you. You will have it all. He mentioned this to a neighbor also.
I am not looking for it all.
My mother has put aside for me 9000 pounds sterling in a cushion and I am the only one who knows about it. I phoned the husband and asked him to look for the cushion and give it to a friend for safe keeping so that his daughter did not find it. He could not find it and I asked a friend to go around and help him look for it.
The now believe the husband has been Sectioned as he has been confirmed to have dementia and has been rushed to hospital with a suspected heart attack.
The person who I asked to retrieve the cushion was let into the house by a neighbor and he could not find it.
I had an email from the Social services and they asked if I had asked someone to go to the house and I confirmed and told them the story.
The social services say that they have a witness to say that a man entered the house saying that he was sent by me, went to the safe and took a large amount of cash and that they will have to call the police and that they cannot comment any further.
I can not find out how the husbands health situation is.
A day or two later I received a phone call mentioning the husbands name, that I had sent someone round to take money and he is going to the police.
I sent a message to the Executor to please forward me a copy of the will but have not had an answer.
Now if the estate ends up at 80000 pounds sterling that is divided between me and the Executor. That is “IF” she does he job honestly.
How do we keep check, What would the solicitor cost?
Is it worth the stress?
