    I wonder how many other residents associations have issues, without ever having had an AGM (in 8 years) it is impossible to vote the coercive controller out of her position, she even made illegal rules up so that she can choose her own committee, only two others are on it (no-one else wants to know) and both just do what she tells them to do. This is quite intolerable and makes it difficult to sell because you cannot deny neighbour issues, but if you admit to them, no-one would buy. It is a private road. I would get a court order, if I could find a law that applies. Thank you for reading.

    If you are not a leaseholder why do you belong to the Association ? Is there some legally enforceable rule ? What is its function ?

      Are there any 'mechanisms' to complain? Maybe get other residents onboard, vote them out.

        It seems she ignores democracy. Howevr, I think it vital to establish a group to change the situation. I have read of reasonable cases being lost because no one else complaining. Also you should not have all the work and stress as your responsibility. A majority not contributing should have an effect.
        The money should be kept in a ring fenced Trust fund with Trustees. Have a diplomatic word with the bank. Possibly a serious error.
        How are people forced to become members ? If it is freehold can't see how it is enforcy.
        I suggest looking for a reputable solicitor offering free initial consultation. There are legal options such as an injunction ordering disclosure. Ignore that and she has serious problems.

                That is helpful, thank you. I have followed some advice, including on here, and am pleased with a small amount of progress.
                Fairly long way to go though.
