I emailed my gym in April requesting suspending membership as I was stuck in UAE due to red corridor, I had a generic response, I chased 2 months later same response, in the meantime £100 paid by dd, I stopped dd and immediately had, an email requesting payment with £10 late fee.. How do I stand? Do I ignore them?

    Hi WOODHEAD38

Email your bank, explain that £100 was taken from your account in error, state that you want a refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee. Get a final response, if your not happy, you can consider taking the matter to the FOS.

Write a Formal Letter of Complaint, mark it as such, explain what's happened, why it's 'unfair' and what you want them to do about it, email it to the gym.
