  • Faulty Wren kitchen

I purchased a wren gloss handless kitchen in 2015 and over the past couple of years it has started splitting along the seam which then caused it to chip. I contacted wren and requested someone to come round and look which they refused and said they would only accept photos. I sent numerous photos but they have replied saying they will not honour the warranty as the damage is due to wear and tear and things hitting the cupboard which is not the case. If anyone can let me know where we stand legally it would be much appreciated.

Without seeing the warranty it's impossible to advise.

Outside of the warranty in the UK consumers have 6 years from time of delivery in which to have faulty goods which do not conform with the contract of sale repaired or replaced free of charge.

This is from a combination of the statute of Limitations and Consumer Rights Act 2015

You might or might not be within the 6 year time frame.
You would need to show the goods did not conform to contract in that eg they were faulty at the time of sale or have lacked the durability required of the cabinets.(that will depend on price and quality) or some other reason.

An expert timber witness report would help in this situation.

I'll rephrase an expert to look at the 'wren gloss handless kitchen'.
