Hello forum --
I recently checked my credit score as I am applying for a mortgage and realised it had come down significantly due to forgetting to pay a Yorkshire Water bill in 2019. They split their payments in 2 and I forgot to pay the second one. The due date was Oct 01, and I paid in the end on Nov 12. They sent me a reminder on Nov 5, but nothing before this other than the annual bill that they send out in Feb. Does anyone know if I can dispute the report that they have made to the credit agency? Don't the company (i.e. YW) have to wait for longer before reporting? And don't they have to make reasonable attempts to collect the payment before reporting you? Any advice much appreciated.
