Hi,
I sent a parcel to someone who had purchased an item worth £1200 but paid £450. I did not cover the package as the person did not pay to have it covered. I used parcel2go and booked a service with DHL. It was taken to a drop off point and tracking told me it had been collected. The parcel was never scanned into the hub. We had a notification that the parcel was delivered at 9:05 two days later. The person said they had not had it. This is where it gets really messy. From Tuesday to Friday we had a different story every time we called DHL. We were told it was on hold, they didn't know where it was, and then on Thursday the person had a text to say the parcel was out for delivery on Friday. We then called again on Friday and then DHL told us there had been an incident and the driver had been attacked and the van stolen with all the parcels.
My question is, could we take either parcel2go or DHL to the small claims court to recover the cost of this parcel?
Thanks in advance.
Christine
