hello, I feel so ashamed and upset I was with a friend of mine shopping at asda and without realizing it she paid for products and stole 2 bed sheets, and put them all in the pram at the exit she stopped us, checked and found those sheets, she paid for them but they called the police because she didn't have the document with her, I was with her and she took my and my child's data and she admitted the guilt that it was hers but however she had put them in the pram, they forbade us to enter the asda, I would like to know even though she paid and admitted guilt I risk something having a small child and I am in process with the child's father for physical and mental aggression I denounced him to the police, I get what happened to asda in court or somewhere this theft results. thank you very much I couldn't even write because I'm shocked and scared

Please try and calm down and give us a more detailed description of what happened.

I'm supposing your friend stole a couple of sheets from Asda, which she put in your pram.
You were both stopped by security.
The police were called.... did they attend?
Asda took your name and address altho' your friend admitted it was she who stole .
Did she confirm you had nothing to do with the incident?

If the police attended what did they say?

Altho' banned from Asda, you may also receive a legal sounding letter from a different outfit requesting you pay for Asda's costs in this matter. That letter can be ignored as it has no basis in law

There should be no impact on your family situation and the chances of this going to court are almost nil

yes came the police took our date although she had paid the full amount of 30 pounds needles stole took the blame on her so that I did not know, but they were in my child's cart, they said not to enter the asda and is the minimum what can he do, now I don't know what will happen I hope I don't have problems with the law because of this guilt because I also fight with my ex for physical and mental violence. the police told me I would get a letter home, I know. Do you think that I will suffer as a result of this incident?

I will never be able to enter the asda to buy or only for a few years, as long as the ban in the store is valid

I don't know how long the ban lasts, but I wouldn't go to that Asda for a little while.

If you do go, all they can do if they spot you is ask you to leave. If you refuse to leave they can force you to leave. That's all.
If you go and are caught doing something wrong (eg shoplifting) you could be charged with burglary

I don't want to steal because I don't think it's a shameful thing to do, I just want to buy in the future, maybe another asda if I go and I should ask how long the ban lasts so I can't enter

If you go to another Asda (or even the same Asda eventually) don't ask how long the ban lasts.
Just do your shopping as it is most unlikely anyone will recognise you, especially in a different store
