  • Statute of Limitations

Can somebody please advise on the statute of limitations. I had a farm and leased part of the land to a developer. I have since found out that the options agreement (signed in 2007) was weighted in the developers favour. In 2011 there was a court case disputing the area of land agreed. The developer won (due to more negligence of my solicitor) and acquired a piece of land which i never would have agreed to. I did not realise at the time that the consequences would lead to me losing my farm. There were several other court cases over the years, all related to the original Options Agreement. It all led to the developer suing me for loss of earnings and in 2016 i was forced to sell the farm in order to repay the developer. In 2016, when everything was final, i was able to tally up the total amount that i had lost due to the solicitors negligence. I believe that my solicitor was negligent with the drafting of the Options Agreement as well as representation in court etc. Does anybody know if the statute of limitations begins in 2011 or 2016?
