  • Voluntary termination charges

I voluntary terminated my car agreement last year and had paid more than half the total amount payable which was £5,910.03 (I paid £6611.22)

They have written to me to say I owe £850 as according to them the car was not in reasonable condition. The car had a little damage but it drove safely, in the past I returned a car with a dead engine and had no extra charges as I paid above half the amount due.

I felt the charges were excessive and they offered to open a complaint and provide a breakdown as to how they got to that amount. They have not done this and have just referred me to the ombudsman as more than 56 days has passed and have just sent another letter saying that I owe them.

They have sold the car, have listed the charges as loss of value and have not dealt with my complaint, what can I do next? Thank you

Either take it to the ombudsman or do nothing and see what they do next.
