  • Executor not responding

I am a beneficiary in a will of a friend who died in 2017, the executor will not answer my calls/ messages/emails, I have contacted the solictors who registered probate, I spoke to someone very unhelpful aggressive and rude, I would to know would the solicitor who registered probate be the person who dealt with the will including inheritance tax and distributing the estate

difficult to comment with such sparse information

Your friend passed ? month 2017 and when was probate granted?
How do you know you are a beneficiary? you have a copy of the probated will/the executor told you?
Is the solicitor the executor named in the will, or has he been appointed by the executor?
Presumably you have been left a specific gift and are not a residuary beneficiary

Unless it is a very complicated estate one would expect it to have been settled by now.
If the solicitor was appointed by the executor, he will not discuss the matter with you, only with the executor.
legacies paid after 12 months after death should include interest
