I used the templates from this site to start a voluntary termination under the CCA1974. They have questioned the condition of the car (which is 11 years old!) I believe it to be in good condition given it's age but it has two wheels that are lightly scuffed, but they 'measure' (in length on the alloy) longer than the companies guidelines for 'fair wear and tear' and also there are two windscreen chips which are also outside the measurements set out within their guidelines, but we bought the car with these chips! It was a bargaining tool for us getting money off the purchase price and we just never got them fixed. My question is whether we have got any argument to state that we bought the car with the chips and how best to word it to them?
Overall, if their 'fair wear and tear' guides clearly state what is, and is not acceptable, does that matter if I believe the car to be in good condition and generally well looked after? Do i just ping the letter template back that says I don't agree?
Oh and because of COVID the car was collected and inspected at a distance and when we received the inspection report it stated 'customer agrees to report but could not sign due to COVID safety measures'. That was NOT the case. My husband didn't even see the form or have any indication of what was going to be put on it.
