Firstly I do hope I've done this correctly and apologies if I haven't .
So I received a letter of claim dated 13th Jan 2021 from DCB Legal regarding CP Plus with an amount owed of £170 for a PCN 10th March 2015.
Sars request received and photos show a picture of my old car which I sold June 2016 . PCN Was at our local services which has a petrol station and a MacDonalds and said I was there nearly 4 hours . Don't know how this is possible as there is nothing there to keep you amused for that long . Everything is done on number plate recognition system .
This is the first I have ever known of this apparent offence nearly 6 years later. Our address was correct that the parking fines were apparently sent too . They reckon they sent four letters aswell . There is just no way we would ignore 4 letters. I work in finance I can't have a CCJ against me plus we was saving for a mortgage back then so I know we would never ever risk not paying for something .
I emailed the company to complain and all they said was I can't appeal now as it's with their collection agents DCB Legal and to contact them .
The last I heard from DCB was that I have 30 days to pay the full £170. This email was dated 1st Feb 2021. I replied on the 13th February 2021 saying I will not be paying £170 within 30 days as I didn't receive anything to make me aware of the fine as the registered keeper of the number plate in question plus it's not within the 14 days that by law this should be received .
I still have have yet to have a reply from DCB regarding the above.
Now the letter of claim that DCB Legal sent me dated 13th January 2021 states that their client is prepared to consider mediation but from emailing their client they have said I can't appeal and to speak to DCB Legal ? I said I've tried and they aren't replying to me .
I have had nothing back from DCB Legal still. I emailed them on the 13th Feb then I emailed them 26th Feb asking if they was going to acknowledge my email sent on the 13th February .
Any advice please guys ? Or can anyone shed any light on what may be going on ?
Obviously 6 years is the 10th march 2021 does This become a void PCN after that date ?
Our address at the time the PCN was apparently sent plus x4 chase up laters was correct with the DVLA . The address then changed to my mother's who is still at that address now and nothings ever been sent their . We also did not even move in to my mother's until 13 months after the apparent offence so more than enough time for all letters to be sent and received etc . Now 6 years later I have received this letter of claim at my new address that I've been at for FOUR years now !! So dvla have no wrong information for me and never did have so why has this all taken so long to track me down !!
