  • Neighbour put Sky dish on my chimney without permission - What should I do?

As above. Am planning to write to ask them to take it down, without damaging my property, or I will have it taken down at their expense, and returned to them.

Is this the best course of action? Advice would be very welcome.

Ask them to take out down.

Do not have it taken down without first obtaining a court order.. you could be accused of criminal damage

Who fitted the dish? If the Sky engineer got it wrong then ask neighbour to get it rectified by Sky.

        May be just an error.

          Thank you everyone.

I have already tried asking, in person, at the doorstep.

          DES8 - How do I get a Court Order?

(I had thought the next step was supposed to be a letter asking them to take it down, so I suppose I would write saying if they didn't take it down I would apply for a Court Order?)

Write a polite letter first, pointing out the dish has been affixed to your chimney without permission and you want it removed.
Tell them that if they fail to confirm within 14 days they are taking steps to have it removed, you will have no alternative but to apply to the courts for an injunction .to enforce removal. You will also be applying for a costs award.
            Send letter "signed for".

If that doesn't produce a result we can help with the court application
