  • Sale of good act

I purchased a bath chair lift, as I am terminal ill and hence now disabled, which came with one year warranty. It is now four months out of warranty.
The acculator which rises and lowers the chair has now started to rust/break down and leaves a lot of residue in the bath when in use and after.
I have eventually been offered a repair at a cost of more than half of the original cost.
I personally do not feel that this is right as I now feel unsafe using it. Can I ask for a replacement or a free repair.

For this situation you should refer to the Consumer Rights Act 2015. When did you first notice the problem and report it to the retailer?

First noticed a couple of months ago, but it’s got worse quickly in the last two weeks. I first contacted them last week.
