  • Old Charging Order

Last year in 2020 I discovered that a charging order had been placed on my existing property in 2016 .
The charging order related to for a debt for water supply to a previous property which I left in 2013.
The creditor claims that details were sent to me in 2016 at my new address but I never received any correspondence from the creditor, or the Court, or the Land Registry there.
I acknowledged the debt as valid when I discovered the charging order last year and agreed a payment plan with the creditor which will be satisfied totally in March 2021.
But I am still quite annoyed that they could take this measure without anyone informing me.
My property is in a block of flats has a communal postbox so it's quite possible that any correspondence from any or all of the three parties was misdelivered.

Shouldn't anything of this nature be sent registered post? Do I have any redress?

I was not aware of any CCJ and if I had been aware I would have paid it and saved myself the additional costs of a chasrging order
