  • Hi

    Hello to all.
I am hoping out there ,there is somebody who can give me info about civil service pensions Circa 1983. Or any civil service job, preferably a prison office, he had done 25years as a landings officer and retired on £ 29,000.

My husband walked out in October on the promise that we would still be married but just live apart. Nice idea!
Anyway to cut it short I wanted a financial agreement as I am to inherit some money and would invest it in property. Property and finances are pretty evenly shared at present. He would keep his and me mine.

I would buy something dilapidated do it up and rent it. Thus I didn’t want him coming back in a few years for a divorce and part of what I have built up.
He got really funny about it, turned it into a an argument to the point he forced me to divorce. I couldn’t understand his reason for not getting a settlement and it came out that he wanted a divorce so he could give his pension to his daughter. Now I do not have a job and would rely on his pension to live.

Well one thing led to another, and I’m wondering what could be in his pension pot, so can anybody give me info about his type of pension, which I understand to be one of the better ones.
His pension is around £14.000. I have never seen the savings account, he does all the money side so I don’t know what he has got tucked away. I think he is hiding something. I think he thinks I will go down the amicable rout for fear of losing some of my inheritance -just read an article about civil servants sitting on pension pots of ££500.000,
His former wife died so I also wonder what he got from that, I know she paid off the mortgage.

Any help out there would be great, or point me to the right forum. I haven’t yet explored the site. I
