Hi, I’m looking for some advice. This sounds ridiculous, but I have found a letter from Rossendales relating to some outstanding council tax from 2018. I have called the council and the lady reluctantly gave me the amount I owed to them, not Inc charges and interest! She told me I need to speak to rossendales which I’m reluctant to do and they have not contacted me on this since 2018. I offered to make the payment and she said no. Is there a way I can pay them, then I officially do not owe them anything? My debt would be charges to rossendales. Is this a good idea? Why wouldn’t they have contacted me for all this time.
I am really worried that I could have hundreds/thousands in interest, and I also can’t afford to get a CCJ.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
