  • Credit File - Vodafone

I received a bill from vodafone in July 2020 which was way over my usual £20 per month. It was over £600. So I queried it with them. I was charged for a zoom meeting I had which should be free. I provided proof of this meeting. I ended up going to ombudsman who made financial decision and I received £150 compensation. Not the outcome I wanted as I believe this was part of a scam. However, I paid the amount in full. On calls to vodafone at the time I asked over and over again as I was selling my house if my credit file would be affected and time and time again I was informed no.
I wanted to put an offer on a house and found that my credit file has been marked by them and I now can't get a mortgage. While the bill was under review I received no bill reminders from vodafone. As they informed me my credit file would not be marked these are not valid.
I have asked them to remove the markers but they are reluctant to do so. I've told them this will affect my life seriously as I'm currently renting. I've lost out on a house now and if I'm not able to get a mortgage I will have financial loss as my rent is so much more expensive that mortgage payments. If Vodafone do not remove the markers which by going on their customer service which is awful the won't I'm in dire straights. If they stay on my file for 6 years I will be too old to get a mortgage . I am a single parent with 3 kids and this is detrimental to my life. I have did nothing wrong as the bill was under review, not unpaid. Are there any organisation I can escalate this through?
Any advice or help would be much appreciated.
