  • End of tenancy

    Hi,
My current tenancy agreement in England runs out on the 1st March 2021. We lived 3 of us in the property but 2 of us had to move out early 6 months ago due to needing to move for work, but have continued to pay our share of the rent to honour our original tenancy agreement. The 3 of us are jointly liable for the tenancy.
The other person wants to continue living in the property after the current term expires, and has been advised by the estate agents that due to coronavirus and the fact that the landlord hasn't been contactable to renew with just her name on a new agreement, that the landlord can't "end the tenancy" without serving 6 months notice.
So basically the other person will likely continue living in the property for atleast 6 more months under this rule. My question is how will this affect the other 2 of us? I obviously don't want to continue to be locked into any sort of agreement any longer than we already have been. The current tenancy agreement says it expires on the 1st of March and I've read through it again and don't see anything else on the subject. Surely if it expires on that date then the other 2 of us are free from the contract provided the landlord agrees the property has been left in good condition?
    any help much appreciated
    Thanks
