  • New house problem.

I purchased a new house 2 years ago. 6 Months in to owning it the house started to experience the best to describe it is tremors.
The tremors happen when articulated lorries pass by some 100 metres from my property. I have found out most of the houses have piled foundations but my house has standard foundations. At first the builders were interested in looking into the problem but have since not wanted to get involved. I then contacted the NHBC to see if they would get involved under the warranty. They apparently have a clause that doesn't cover this type of problem. i then contacted the highways department who also would not get involved.
Personally i think my house is built on land with a high water table causing the house to move.
Would like to hear from anyone who has experience of this type of issue.

In your position I would get my insurance company involved. A friend of mine had a similar problem and got nowhere until his insurers got involved.
