  • Parking fine

Hi, I'm new to the forum, so thanks for the add.
the issue is fairly simple in relation to parking on private land. I paid the correct fee but put a wrong registration number in, that to our other vehicle. Then got a PCN through the post. I did explain what had happened and that I had paid. The rejected my appeal and it's now ongoing with the IAS. Where do I stand if the IAS rejects my appeal, can I ho to court to argue my case?
At no time have I tried to get out of paying the parking fee, but I I see this as grossly unfair to have to pay £100 for my admin error.

I've got news for you: IAS will reject your appeal. IPC and IAS are run by the same people.

How wrong was the number? 1character wrong, 2 transposed characters, or completely wrong?

    Presume you've identified the driver?

      Hi,
thats not great news!!! Driver was identified as it was so innocent a mistake.
the number was completely wrong, but it was definitely our vehicle. I posted the V5 to show them it was an innocent mistake.

If I lose my appeal, what's the chance of getting a fair hearing if I go to court do you think?

A judge would possibly agree with you.

The other lot, the BPA, recognise that mistakes can be made and reduce the charges but the IPC are too greedy

So what is the procedure ? If they kick it out do I then dare then to take me to court and just wait? Are they likely too, is it really worth their while? But if they do what are the likely costs I'm gonna incur do you think? I appreciate advice on this as I'm really pissed off with them and the whole process. Thanks for your responses

They can take you to court, it depends on the company. If you lose should be about £200 or less.

Thank you for reply. Its Excel Parking in Shieffield and they seem very aggressive. To be honest I'm right up for the fight.
