  • Voluntary Termination of Car Finance

    Hi All

Looking for some advice about Voluntary Termination of car finance.

I sent an email requesting to VT my car finance and to understand the process, to which they replied and said they would pass to relevant department to process. Today I received a hone call from the collection agency to arrange to pick up the car. I said I had some questions about payments and understand whether or not I want to go down this route - they referred me back to the finance company.

I called the finance company who told me that there is a £750 liability on the car that will need to be paid either by full or by a payment plan and then if there are any charges for damages to the vehicle that would be added on top. I advised that I wanted to think about this as don't want to be in the situation I am paying more. The lady advised that I couldn't un-do the VT and once requested that was it, I advised I was wanting to understand the process firstly, and secondly, where does it say I can't un-do my request to VT and continue with my agreement? The lady said she needed to "investigate" and called me back to say that she had spoke to the manager who said that I requested to VT and therefore could not go back on it. I am now awaiting a call back from the manager...

Does anyone have any advice on this? Thank you.
