Hello. I did recieve a court ccj summons from Northampton. Submitted by Lowell for a debt I believed to be statute barred in 2012. However. I send the letters requesting details of payments. It does seem that this may not actually be statute barred as I first believed when I ignored the letters from Lowell for ages.
So given a few things going on for me I'm thinking it is likely I would have to pay the amount which is just shy of 900 quid with court costs.
My question is at this point would it still be worth trying to settle with them for a lower amount out of court? I'm wondering if they would now push for CCJ. Or if I offered say 50 percent to settle if they might still or even can accept. Now that the court summons is issued. And if it is a good idea to offer a settlement in these circumstances. How would you word it.. Given the claimed amount now includes court fees or costs.
Thanks in advance for any help.
