  • Parking notice from 5 years ago

    Hi,

I recently received a parking ticket for parking in a car park 5 years ago. This is a car park I often used to park in and due to a faulty machine I would have to pay when I got home, online, of course sometimes I would forget - so I have records showing that I paid to park lots of time over the past 5 years to present. I have have records to show I paid fines over the past few years and have never not paid a fine.

However, when they issued the ticket from 5 years ago I was in the middle of a house move and their notice went to a previous address, despite the fact that I had a post office forwarding in place. So I never received this. I showed them evidence of our postal re-direct in place and also of previous fines and payments being made.

I said to them in my correspondence that I would be willing to pay the original fine but that I thought £160 was too much considering I have never avoided paying fines and that I was a loyal customer for years.

Obviously they don't car about mediation and just want to recover as much money as possible in the current climate.

After several back and forth - they have demanded that I pay or be taken to court... what is the general advice here - I feel really unjustly prosecuted for a charge I never received. Their reasoning is that I should have notified the DVLA of our house move... we did as our driving licenses addresses pre-date the fine with our new address - but we didn't change the vehicle address until a week after the fine was apparently sent.

I would very much welcome any legal advice on this.

    Thanks

I am sorry, I don't have enough information regarding this. I am a college student and I am preparing for my exams and I got a bunch of assignments from my mentor. So, I want to buy college papers so that I can submit them at the given time.

Recently I tried fantastic coffee (one of my friends recommended trying it) and was totally amazed by how tasty it can be! It was a Columbian drink I’ve never heard about before. Read this article about it here.
