  • Penalty Charge Notice Doubled During Appeal Period.

    Hi everyone,

I have a penalty charge notice for being in a yellow box, I was not the driver at the time and understand that I am held liable regardless. However, I made an appeal and I was under the impression that during this time fines cannot be increased. The charge was £65 initially and is now £130, I wanted to know if anyone is aware what I can do in this situation as I am fine with paying the original price. I just feel it is unfair to be paying an increased amount before I even received a response.

Thanks so much for reading and the responses!
