    Good evening,

I am looking for some quick advice on whether my child's school can force him to repeat year 12 for underperforming half way through his year 13, having passed his year 12 entry exams with BBB. Also can they not enter my child for his A level exams if he refuses to move down into year 12?

The school had given me two options. The first, have him repeat year 12 maths and history but staying in year 13 economics, and the second dropping economics and picking another subject and taking them all in year 12. They have tried to force me to move my child to year 12 which he has already passed all his exams with BBB.

I have refused both options, and have instructed my son to keep attending his year 13 lessons and take his A levels at the end of the year. Can they decide to not let my child into his exams or carry on year 13, as I had been told that if he does carry on into year 13 and refuses to move down in year 12 he will not be signed up for his A level exams.

Can you please give me the best possible advice in this situation?

    Thank you
